Is an exchange limited to the same product?

No. A shopper can swap for anything available in your store and pay the difference if it costs more. You can also restrict exchanges to chosen categories if you prefer.

How is the price difference paid?

Inside the portal, before the exchange is confirmed, using the payment methods already enabled in your store, with nothing extra for you to set up.

What if the replacement costs less?

The difference is issued as store credit in the customer's name, spendable only in your store, rather than as a cash refund.

Do exchanges increase my return rate?

Exchanges change where a return goes, not how many you get. A return that was about to leave as cash comes back as a new order and the revenue stays with you.
